Two Worlds

A lot of people suffer from PTSD without setting foot on the sand and without even being aware. There are everyday subtle clues that draw attention to this space; that ache in the hips gets louder, a painful life cycle keeps repeating, or dreams become more vivid. The backpack adds weight each day without much notice until it’s too heavy.

Jolly is entering uncharted territory. Her first day at sea has triggered her subconscious activating messages in her dream state for her to recognize, decode, and release. Her voyage started a while ago, but in an emotional sense, has just begun. Here she is noticing the difference between these two states and the subtle messages that tether in between both worlds. She uses a natural reflex to ground into the present using items in her physical space to create a stable womb inside her for more mysteries to discover about herself.
