Inside Out

If you truly want to see others, you have to see yourself first.

Since leaving the city Jolly has shifted more inward. And with that self-reflection she is starting to not only view nature and the beauty inside of it different, but also through the people she meets. Emmi doesn’t say too much. When she does, it’s with intention and meaning. It is something that Jolly isn’t used to. She has spent a lot of time in the bakery watching Emmi work before her shifts, it soothes her and is a place where she feels safe and aligned.

In resting in quiet with someone, slowly their insides bleed out and paint an authentic reflection to the observer. When silence is enjoyed with another person, a new type of connection can be formed. Instead of words, a scar on another’s face is noticed that left behind a lesson in strength. Or an endearing wrinkle that surfaces when you see them smile, knowing only their face can home it.

It’s the little things that are special about a person, not so much their wealth or status. Jolly is learning that beauty is imperfectly perfect, and like a child, true goodness seeps out from the inside.
